American Express Platinum Fine Dining Award

De Oude Kraal Restaurant has for the 8th consecutive year,  won the prestigious American Express Platinum Fine Dining award, and is one of only 84 awarded in South Africa.

This honour was bestowed on Gerhard & Marie Lombard, on Monday evening 27 August 2012, at a gala event, in Sandton. 
The acknowledgement of such an award to a Restaurant in South Africa is equivalent to a Michelin Star in Europe.
The fact that the evaluation is done yearly, by a mystery guest, without forewarning to the restaurant, lends credibility to such an award in the industry.
