Five Generations of Women built a Prosperous Farm
This Bloemfontein accommodation, De Oude Kraal Country Estate and Spa is located on a working sheep farm, south of Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa. Five generations of women have built and nourished a lucrative and prosperous sheep farm. Marie’s eldest daughter, Helen-Joan, shares her mom’s passion for farming, and together they are producing fine wool and exceptional lamb meat.
Passion for Farming and Cooking
Marie Lombard inherited the passion for farming, from her dad, Mr Wessel Bührmann, in 1991 and continued to farm with the Merino sheep. Having inherited the passion and dedication for farming, Marie has increased the numbers and the quality levels of the herd of sheep at De Oude Kraal Country Estate.
Marie has a passion for farming and cooking, and the combination of these passions has inspired Marie to deliver excellence and superiority in all the accomplishments at De Oude Kraal Country Estate. She excels in the kitchen, with amazing cooking skills, and she excels in the farm. It is really a Bloemfontein accommodation with a difference.
Wildebeest and Springbucks
The farm is a typical Southern Free State with ‘koppies’ and rolling red grasslands, these natural surroundings create a haven for the local Game found on the farm, Game such as Black Wildebeest, Springbuck, Blesbuck, Mountain Reedbuck, and Steenbuck.
Horse riding and hiking are some of the outdoor activities offered at the De Oude Kraal Country Estate. You will also experience star gazing at the farm, the country sky is amazing on the farm.
